York Brewery, York, England
Saaz Bitter
Centurion Ghost Strong Bitter

The only brewery in the walled city of York, the aptly named York Brewery, has two phenomenal standouts in their lineup that have won gold in their respective categories at the Great British Beer Festival: Yorkshire Terrier for Best Bitter in 2000 (Bronze in Overall) and Centurion’s Ghost, a Gold medal winner in the Strong Bitter category consecutively in 2006 and 2007. So we had to bring back the Ghost and paired it with an intriguing single-varietal-hopped Saaz Bitter, part of Head Brewer Andrew Whalley’s (born and raised in New Joysey) new single varietal Bitter series. Saaz employed by itself, especially in a British Bitter, is unusual.

Saaz:
“Saaz is one of our range of Single Hop beers, we brew them to help educate people as to the flavour and difference in various hop varieties. 4.0% abv, quite light in colour, (employing) Saaz, …a hop from the Czech Republic."
Alc./Vol.: 4.0%

Centurion Ghost:
A warming, dark bitter ale, with a roasted malt taste. Very easy to drink for its strength.
Alc./Vol.: 8.0%

Formats: 40.8L Firkins. Please inquire for availability.
