The brewery shop sells draught beer straight from the cellar in quantities from 2.3 litres to 40.9 litres. (4 pints to 72pints). Throughout the year there are a variety of different ales available with a selection of between 3 and 5 at any one time. Draught beer has a very short life and needs to be consumed quickly after purchase. The beer comes in 2 forms which are as follows.

Bright Beer: This beer has been conditioned and settled in Harveys temperature controlled cellar and is drawn off to order. It can be drunk immediately but has a MAXIMUM 2-3 day life.
Cask Conditioned: This beer needs to be settled for a MINIMUM of 24 hours before use and once settled MUST NOT be moved. The sediment in the beer will settle at the bottom of the cask during this period, however the beer will last for up to 14 days. Cask conditioned is only available in sizes of 20 litres or above.
Therefore if a customer was looking for Best Bitter to drink that evening he/she would ask for Best Bitter Bright or if they want the ale to last over a period (often Christmas and New Year) they would ask for Best Bitter Cask Conditioned.
