Cask Marque:

Harveys is a member of the cask ale accreditation scheme Cask Marque. This organisation awards certificates and plaques to Licensees which achieve a standard of quality and excellence for cask conditioned beer.

Most of the nation’s regional brewers are involved with Cask Marque as a means of enhancing the reputations of their beers. However, Harveys is the only brewery member south of the Thames and is therefore the standard bearer for Sussex, Surrey and Kent. .

Cask Marque assessors (invariably highly trained brewers) put themselves in the position of the drinking customer and judge the beer accordingly. The date and time of their visits is not divulged previously. However, on arrival an assessor will identify himself to the tenant or manager before examining all the cask ales. Assessors do not inspect cellars or conditions behind the bar, they look purely at the quality of beer in the glass. The Cask Marque scheme is gaining nationwide recognition from the drinking public. It is also an excellent means by which a Licensee can improve competitiveness.

- 2002 Bonfire Boy wins Ultimate Beer with BBQs in National Hop Ascociation and the Horticultural Research International Competition.
- Imperial Extra Double Stout wins Gold Award in the Stout class
- Porter wins Silver Medal in the Cask Dark Beer Class 2
- Tom Paine wins Silver Medal in the Cask Conditioned Ale Class 2. at the International Beer and Cider Competition.
