Kiuchi Shuzou Ltd. was established in 1823 in the tiny hamlet of Kounosu (= "Nest") as producer of Japanese Sake. In 1996 the company started brewing beer with a capacity of 1,500 barrels per year.

Appearance: Pitch black color, big brown head.
Aroma: Aromas of chocolate, roasted bitterness, black currants, dark fruits.
Finish: Caramel, roasted, black and chocolate malts provide an explosion of coffee like flavors.
