WinterCoat's beers are almost all English ale types. The only exceptions are Boghvede ("Buckwheat") and Yellow Jacket, which both use Belgian wit yeast, and Bushwhacker, which is an American Ale. Our beers are neither pasteurized nor filtered. Our bottled beers are bottle-conditioned. This means that there is a fine layer of sediment at the bottom, which should not be poured into the glass with the beer. We think our beers taste best at about 10-12 degrees centigrade, and prefer to hand pump them from the kegs with real ale pumps, avoiding the addtion of unnecessary CO2. The buckwheat beer should be drunk ice cold, and with added CO2, as befits a Belgian wheat beer.

The Yellow Jacket is best about 8-10 celcius, but without added CO2. Our beers are distributed in 1⁄2 litre bottles and 19-litre Cornelius kegs, but are available cask-conditioned if ordered in advance.
