Konrad Graser Portfolio
From one of the most revered and celebrated brewery families in the world.
Led by Matthias Trum who is deeply inspired by all things “historic” he found the hand-written notes of Konrad Graser, his great-great-great-grandfather, who in the mid 1900s century created four most unique recipes of classic German beer styles.
We are proud to introduce Matthias Trum’s historic search to all our customers. One at a time.
All four paint a picture of stories authentic to Bamberg and its Very oldest brewing traditions..
K. Graser’s “Braunbier”
Special feature: Made with a dough-like mash.
For Braunbier, the mash is kneaded in the mash tun like dough, using very little water.
This results in particularly intense malt aromas in the Braunbier.
The special "Maischeteigen” method was used historically by the old guard of Bamberg
brewers. The long steeping time allows a particularly large number of the mash’s components
to dissolve, resulting in full, malt-spicy aromas and flavors in the brew.
When you enjoy it it is quite reminiscent of liquid bread.
Original gravity: 13.0 °p | Alcohol: 5.6%
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, hops, yeast.
